10 Things WWE Should Borrow From Other Sports

2. A Wrestlers' Union

This one is not so much something that WWE itself would (or even should) introduce, but rather something that the whole industry might benefit from - including, you would imagine, all of those currently working for Vince McMahon.

A wrestlers' union has been a topic of conversation within the business for several decades now, with Jesse Ventura among the most prominent voices calling for it to be introduced. Mainly, this is because performers of the squared circle are ostensibly independent contractors, without the same employment protections of everyone else.

In many other sports, unions have been in place for a number of years. It's not uncommon for football pay disputes in some European countries to result in the occasional strike, for example (which is bad news for the fans but shows the bargaining power of the athletes).

Since the threat of industrial action on this scale would likely spell bad news for WWE, we're not expecting them to get on board with this idea. But there are good reasons for its workers to start pushing for it.
