10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Big Show

4. The Ending To Royal Rumble 2004 When He Lost To Chris Benoit

One of the best things about Big Show is that as a giant he's always booked strong in battle royals and Royal Rumble matches. While he has never won a Royal Rumble, he has been a runner up a couple of times. His second place finish in 2004 was one of those things that, at the time, was considered one of the best finishes to a Royal Rumble ever. Show was dominant in the final third of the Rumble, lasting over 22 minutes (a lot for a giant) and eliminating big names in the match like Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Rob Van Dam and John Cena although Cena was still on the rise at that point. It was smart booking because it made it seem like Show was going to win when he faced off with Chris Benoit at the end. Then Benoit applied a snug headlock, they fought by the ropes and Benoit was able to yank Show out of the ring. It was one of the best Rumble finishes ever and did a tremendous job of putting Benoit over. When you see WWE showing Royal Rumble highlights you'll never see it because it involved Benoit. It's a shame because it was great.
