10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Aleister Black

1. The Company Wanted Him Back Pre-AEW

Malakai Black
AEW

The internet lit up with rumours about a swift Aleister Black WWE return for weeks. Then, magically, the renamed Malakai showed up at AEW's Road Rager and had social media abuzz all over again. This time, nobody was talking about that WWE comeback; Black is looking towards the future, not the past.

Those rumours weren't born from nothing though. Reportedly, some key figures behind the scenes in WWE were high on the thought of bringing Black back. They likely knew what everyone else did: Aleister's 'Tales Of The Dark Father' vignettes had been stunning, and he had so much untapped potential as a rival for Big E (amongst others).

WWE's party line will be that such rumours were unsubstantiated. That's fair enough, but there's no way Black making a comeback wasn't discussed internally before he used WWE's 30-day release loophole to show up in AEW.
