10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Becky Lynch

6. The Ric Flair Kiss

Well, they do call him the "kiss stealin', wheelin', dealin' son of a gun".

During Becky's title match with Charlotte at the 2016 Royal Rumble, Flair's daddy dearest grabbed Lynch and forcibly kissed her to cause a distraction. The internet did not like the spot, and there was even some claims that WWE had ruined their own female equality movement by booking such a suggestive smooch.

Others felt differently, pointing out that the kiss was entirely in-character for Ric's larger-than-life 'Nature Boy' gimmick and gave Becky a valid excuse for losing. WWE, likely feeling the heat of the moment, elected to agree with the complainers and remove the lip lock altogether.

Watch that match back and you'll only see Flair 'Wooing' in Becky's face before Charlotte cuts her off. This is proof that the company want fans to forget about the spot. It's one they're unlikely to repeat in 2019, and so they don't want folks knowing they booked it in the first place three years ago.
