10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Becky Lynch

5. Her First SmackDown Women's Title Run Was Mediocre

Here's a quick bonus stat: Becky's second SmackDown Women's Title reign was only seven days longer than her first. That's 91 compared to 84 days for anyone keeping score. Surprising, huh? Even more so when racking one's brains to remember something, or indeed anything, from reign number one.

It was as forgettable as they come despite being the first one in the belt's history.

Lynch captured the blue brand's new Women's Title at Backlash in September 2016 and subsequently defended it exactly once on pay-per-view before losing it. That loss to Alexa Bliss at TLC in December brought the curtain down on a totally pointless stint in the title hot seat, and things happening elsewhere made it worse that Becky's work was so downplayed.

When she was doing pretty much nothing on SmackDown, both Charlotte Flair and Sasha Banks were working the first ever female Hell In A Cell match in October. WWE would likely prefer if everybody forgot how rotten their booking of Becky as Women's Champ was the first time.
