10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Bray Wyatt
1. Worst Worked Match Of The Year 2014
Wyatt is generally considered one of the most improved superstars of recent years. He is far more mobile in the ring than a few years ago, a far cry from his semi-bumbling days as Husky Harris on NXT Season 2. He is one of the most charismatic performers on the entire roster, and seems utterly immersed in his gimmick during promos and interview segments.
Despite this, and despite his perceived popularity among large segments of the internet crowd, Wyatt managed to scoop Wrestling Observer Newsletter's 'Worst Worked Match' award. The accolade wasn't given during his shaky rookie beginnings either as he won it in 2014. Wyatt's cage match with John Cena at Extreme Rules 2014 saw one of the most embarrassing endings in recent memory.
With Cena poised to escape through the cage door and win the match, he was stopped in his tracks by a small child. Apparently an ally of Bray's, the boy somehow terrified Cena back into the cage, allowing Wyatt to escape and pick up the victory. It was an utterly absurd ending, one which threatened to derail Bray's momentum altogether after a disappointingly clean loss to Cena at WrestleMania XXX.
Now with Wyatt positioned as a major threat once again, WWE probably regret booking such a ludicrous angle - particularly as it ended with another clean loss at Payback 2014 anyway.
