10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Nia Jax

On the January 28, 2019 edition of Monday Night Raw—just a few months before he would leave WWE—Dean Ambrose sat in the middle of the ring and started to "bear his soul" to the crowd, only to be interrupted by Nia Jax, for some reason.

Jax, alongside her tag team partner Tamina, stared down Ambrose, badmouthing him in an inaudible promo, before striking him with a cheap shot from behind, knocking him out of the ring. She invited The Lunatic Fringe to get back in the ring and fight her, but he merely walked off.

Fans assumed this would lead to an intergender match between the two, particularly as Jax had entered the men's Royal Rumble the night prior, but nothing came about whatsoever.

Jax spoke about this on The Sessions with Renee Paquette and how the whole situation was uncomfortable. In many ways, it felt like WWE was doing this just to humiliate Ambrose on his way out of the company, ultimately dropping it before anything concrete happened.

One bad segment that led nowhere was likely better than if WWE had followed through with it and made the situation worse, but considering there have been several other times where Jax had gotten physical with a male Superstar like Randy Orton and it went over much better, this one stands out as a misstep better left forgotten. And that's especially true if you're a Jon Moxley fan, seeing what he's accomplished in AEW since then.
