The 2007 Signature Pharmacy Scandal wasn't the only time Rey's professional reputation was brought into question during his WWE run. Unfortunately, masked high-flier has not one, but two Wellness Policy violations on his résumé, both of which brought repercussions.

The first came in August 2009. On the 2nd of the month, WWE announced that Rey would be suspended for 30 days effective September 2nd, allowing them time to pass Mysterio's Intercontinental Championship over to John Morrison. Rey defended himself by arguing that he had a prescription for the drug he'd been popped for, but was unable to produce it as he was on vacation at the time of suspension, so it stood.

Rey was handed a customary 60-day suspension for his second violation three years later, though this had little impact on his push. Injured in August 2011, he had already been written off television for eight months prior to the transgression, and served his time while still inactive. Rey returned to television three weeks after its expiration, and wound up staying with the company until February 2015, never falling afoul of the Wellness Policy again.
