10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Roman Reigns

3. Roman’s Wellness Policy Violation

WWE booked two top title changes at Money In The Bank 2016. Seth Rollins beat Roman for the WWE Title, then Dean Ambrose cashed in his briefcase (won earlier the same night) to bag the belt himself. 48 hours later, the company announced that Reigns had been suspended for violating the Wellness Policy.

Oops.

This announcement was embarrassing for all parties. Roman was the promotion's top babyface (on paper), and here he was being suspended for 30 days due to a personal oversight. Reigns dropped the WWE Title swiftly at MITB pre-announcement, then owned the error online. That had to be humbling.

One of the most embarrassing things about this reveal was how fans viewed Wellness Policy violations. To people reading the news online, Roman had really messed up and was in serious trouble. That wasn't actually the case, but perception takes over in the age of social media regardless of the truth.

Again, oops.
