10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Seth Rollins

3. Rollins Retired Sting

At Survivor Series 2014, The Icon Sting finally arrived in WWE. He did so to begin building to his first ever match at WrestleMania, a match against Triple H that quite clearly should have been against The Undertaker but nevermind, we'll forget that for the time being. Inexplicably Sting came up short in that nostalgia-fest, but not before slicing a sledgehammer in half with a baseball bat.

Sting would have just one more WWE PPV match before retiring, and that match came against none other than the Aerialist himself, Seth Rollins. Rollins came out on top in the match (despite wrestling earlier in the night against John Cena), but the result paled into insignificance compared to the fallout.

After taking that damn buckle bomb during the match, Sting suffered a severe injury that would require surgery, ultimately leading to The Icon announcing his retirement at the 2016 WWE Hall of Fame. Bret Hart was quick to lay the blame on Rollins for Sting's retirement, and whilst it was (and is) a move that Rollins has done many times without injury he probably should have gone a little easier on the part time 30 year veteran.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
