10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Dudley Boyz

2. "Breaking" Beulah's Neck

It's hard to imagine a WWE wrestler debuting these days with a name like Beulah McGillicutty (it doesn't exactly roll off the tongue) but back in the 1990s she was probably the most famous female in ECW.

Partly, this owed to an incident in 1998, when Beulah was given a mean-looking 3D - then known by its less kid-friendly name, the Dudley Death Drop - by Bubba Ray and D-Von; a move which was said to have left her with a broken neck.

Of course, she didn't really break her neck. It was all a ploy to write her off television, because she had reportedly grown tired of wrestling and wanted to return to college (which is understandable, given that much of the remit of an ECW employee involves being hit hard with blunt objects).

But, suffice it to say, this is the kind of thing that - even as part of a storyline - probably wouldn't go down so well today. That can be said of much of the content produced by Paul Heyman's passion project, however, so there's no shame on the part of the Dudleys here.
