10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About The Elimination Chamber

Brock Lesnar became WWE's resident juggernaut at WrestleMania XXX when he defeated The Undertaker, ending "The Phenom's" WrestleMania streak. Lesnar's dominance lasted for two-and-a-half years, crumbling when Goldberg squashed him at Survivor Series.

That makes Goldberg the most unbeatable force in WWE right now, and the company hammered that home when he easily eliminated Lesnar from the Royal Rumble. "Da Man" is finally being booked properly in WWE, and it only happened 14 years too late - because during his first WWE run, Goldberg was not treated the way he was in WCW.

Goldberg got his first World Heavyweight Championship shot at SummerSlam 2003 in what was the second-ever Elimination Chamber match. With Triple H as World Heavyweight Champion and Kevin Nash, Chris Jericho, Randy Orton, and Shawn Michaels along for the ride, fans expected "Da Man" to emerge victorious. He was the sixth entrant into the bout and ran roughshod over the field of competition, eliminating Orton, Michaels, and Jericho in a matter of minutes. He then promptly lost to Triple H, allowing "The Game" to retain his title.

While HHH did need to use his sledgehammer for the win, 2017 booking makes it hard to believe there was a time when the company didn't care to protect Goldberg. Seems like that's what happens when Triple H is in the mix.
