10 Things You Didn't Know About Bash At The Beach
7. Big Match Hulk
Wherever he went, Hulk Hogan was a big draw, although the less said about his stint in Impact Wrestling the better.
In WCW, he was always at the top of the card, enjoying a total of six reigns with the World Heavyweight Championship. At Bash At The Beach alone, 'The Immortal' competed in five out of the seven main events, two of which were contested for that aforementioned championship.
He won the title from Ric Flair in 1994, and successfully defending against Vader the following year in a Steel Cage Match. In 1996, he was famously the third man alongside Kevin Nash and Scott Hall as they faced Sting, Lex Luger, and Randy Savage. 1997 and 1998 saw Hogan, now under the alias of Hollywood Hogan, team with Dennis Rodman, with the pair losing to Lex Luger and The Giant, and defeating Diamond Dallas Page and Karl Malone the next year.
Hogan's only non-main event match at the event was in 2000 (he wasn't featured on the 1999 card), as he won the Big Gold Belt from Jeff Jarrett before the infamous worked shoot incident with Vince Russo. 'The Hulkster' was evidently synonymous with the Bash At The Beach shows - more on that later.
