UFC has announced that Brock Lesnar will be the co-headliner for UFC 200. While not entirely surprising, this is crucial for a number of reasons.

For starters, the headliner and co-headliner of any UFC PPV are generally the focus of the event. With UFC 200 as big as it is, that may prove the exception to the rule, but they will still be the focal point of most marketing campaigns. The headliner, of course, is Jon Jones vs. Daniel Cormier, and Jones has already gone on record suggesting the addition of Lesnar will add millions to his bank account.

Speaking of bank account, that's another factor as to why Lesnar is where he is on the card: money, and specifically, PPV dollars. While a piece of the PPV pie is often reserved for headliners, rest assured Lesnar will be getting a piece of the action. Probably a very big piece.

Again, this isn't surprising, but consider who is below him on the card:

The man who took his title, Cain Velasquez, fighting Travis Browne.

Women's bantamweight champion Miesha Tate, making her first title defense against Amanda Nunes.

Former lightweight champ Frankie Edgar taking on former featherweight champ Jose Aldo for the interim featherweight title (a.k.a. winning the Conor McGregor sweepstakes).

This may rub some of the vets the wrong way, but rest assured, the UFC is looking at their bottom line.
