10 Thrown-Together WWE Acts That Made No Sense

2. Rhyno & Heath Slater

Going-nowhere Rhyno was curiously selected choice to partner up with intentionally dense wannabe Heath Slater when SmackDown Live! crowned the first ever post-2016 Draft show-exclusive Tag Team Champions, but the joke wore incredibly thin long before WWE booked the 'Manbeast' to get fat.

Unlike virtually everything going on on a vibrant blue brand at the time, it just had so little foundation.

It was never explained why Rhyno acted so diligently as Heath's hired gun, with literally nobody else on the roster booked to have any sympathy for his plight despite the increasing number of mouths he had to feed back at his trailer park residence. As the only person not to get signed to either brand in the original split, Heath was excellent as an exiled imbecile too.

When the pair lifted the straps at September's Backlash, fans took the result warmly. For WWE, it was an end chapter rather than opening one, with Heath and Rhyno peaking with the victory rather than as a result of any tangible follow through. Their partnership persists, despite the pair failing to gain any foothold on Monday Night Raw since being switched in 2017.
