10 Times Shane McMahon's Ego Ran Wild In WWE

2. An Epic With The Undertaker

Shane McMahon’s 2016 return to WWE was a feel good moment, a genuine nice surprise for the fans. That almost immediately turned sour, because the first thing he did was enter into a dreadfully lazily set up Hell In A Cell match against the Undertaker at WrestleMania 32.

From the off, there are so many problems with that. The execution was dreadful - Undertaker was brought in to do Vince McMahon’s bidding, for some reason. Beyond kayfabe, though, Undertaker was on his last legs here. He’s one of the biggest stars the industry has ever known with a handful of WrestleMania matches left, and you’re wasting one on the boss’ son?

Then, there’s the match itself. Like with AJ, Shane goes blow for blow with ‘Taker for much of the bout. It’s far more egregious here, though, because it runs 30 minutes and is almost entirely dull.

Props must go to Shane for plummeting off the cell at age 46, but if that’s all he really wanted to do, could he not have just shown up for this spot, allowing Undertaker to have a better match with someone else? No - because he’s Shane McMahon.
