10 Times The Undertaker Has Done What's Best For Business

5. Allowing Maven To Eliminate Him From Royal Rumble (2002)

Obviously, things didn't work out for Maven in the long run with WWE. Back in early-2002 however, the promotion did seem interested in pushing him as more than just a solid rookie from the first series of Tough Enough. In order to give him some credibility, he was booked to do something special come the Royal Rumble.

There, Maven hit The Undertaker with a dropkick from behind and sent him sailing over the top rope to the floor. By eliminating such a famous name, the writing team likely felt that Maven would reap the benefits and fans would be interested in him going forward.

That didn't end up happening, but it was nonetheless cool of a veteran like Undertaker to allow a young rookie such a huge moment. The elimination would become the answer to a trivia question more than anything else, but it did prove that 'Taker has always been willing to do what management feel is right.
