10 Times Title Belts Were Horribly Disrespected
9. Pacman
Though hardly steeped in rich history, it was no less embarrassing when TNA elected to put one of their titles on a p*ss-poor celebrity who brought little-if-any mainstream attention and was contractually forbidden from engaging in anything physical.
Adam 'Pacman' Jones still earns a hefty salary as a cornerback for the Cincinnati Bengals, but off-the-field antics have continually blighted his career in a manner which apparently suited TNA down to the ground.
During a 2007 NFL suspension, Jones signed with the company in a desperately transparent grab for shared space amongst his controversial and ugly headlines.
It was a flawed move anyway, but was made worse when Jones' Tennessee Titans coach publicly confirmed he was not permitted to wrestle or engage in physical action as per his football contract.
Naturally, TNA put a title on him.
Forming 'Team Pacman' with Ron 'The Truth' Killings, Jones let Truth do all the heavy lifting in the matches, which were heavily gimmicked or forced into hackneyed comedy in order to hide the very public problem TNA had made for themselves.
A slim crumb of comfort came in Pacman's exit from TNA, as the future Xavier Woods got his break as Consequences Creed, taking the place of the controversial 'star'.
