During a roundtable discussion on the WWE Network, Eric Bischoff claimed that he wasn't interested in bringing Lex Luger over into WCW. Scott Hall was the one who convinced Bischoff to discuss terms with Luger, who had seen his star fall in the WWF. Looking back, Eric says the only reason he brought Lex on board was to stick it to Vince McMahon.

Lex Luger's reintroduction to the company with which he made his name, WCW, was huge at the time. On the first ever episode of Monday Nitro, Luger showed up unannounced, and got in the face of Hulk Hogan. At the time, Hulk was the WCW World Champion, so it's understandable why there was substantial buzz surrounding the entire ordeal.

Incredibly, at the same time as he was reintegrating himself back into WCW life, Luger was reportedly still under contract to the WWF. In fact, the man had even worked a WWF house show just 24 hours before showing up on the opposition's show. It was moments such as these which proved WCW were capable of competing with the WWF.
