The most recent thumbtack bump to take place on this list happened at the latest WWE pay-per-view. Facing Dean Ambrose in an Asylum Match, Chris Jericho agreed to something he would probably later regret. As weird as it was to see thumbtacks in the 'PG Era' of WWE, the bout really needed such a stunt.

Before the tacks were introduced, the live audience had at times been deathly quiet. On his podcast, Jericho reasoned that a fantastic Fatal-4-Way for the WWE Intercontinental Title was hard to follow, but fans didn't appear to dig the use of weapons like a mop or fire extinguisher.

Going for a Codebreaker, Y2J stalled for a second before being bumped backwards onto the drawing pins. Not finished, Ambrose then hit his Dirty Deeds DDT onto them, and he too felt the sting.

Forget Ambrose, he wasn't the one who had to fall twice on the tacks. That fate was all Jericho's, and he later claimed that 69 of the fierce objects were pulled from his back, arms and shoulders backstage. Ouch.
