10 Times Wrestlers Stole An Opponent’s Finisher (& Did It BETTER)
7. Drew McIntyre - Angle Slam (WWE RAW, November 2018)
There was a polished psychology with which Kurt Angle dropped goobers with the Angle Slam. Its set-up was simple because its only qualifier was that Angle had to be waiting at the rear of an opponent. He hooked them in a back Suplex-like position, and barely lifted them off the ground before they were slammed back down to reality, the bump being a bland flat back landing. Unless you were never trained in appropriate bumping etiquette, you'd have no problem taking the move.
Anyone could do it.
Drew McIntyre certainly could.
Trudging his way through a battered Kurt Angle, Drew distilled the essence of the Angle Slam perfectly. He stalked 'The Wrestling Machine' as if he were a piece of meat discovered in the jungle, striking when the iron was hot. Hoisting Angle high into the air, McIntyre spun him around a full 360 degrees before dropping him flat on his back. Remember: the very best iterations of a wrestler stealing another's match-ender is when they apply their own spin on the manoeuvre. Drew did just that.
Literally.
