The Deadman. The Phenom. The man who controls lightening, and murdered his parents, and the...guy who shaved his head to look like Chuck Liddell. At WrestleMania 27, Taker battled HHH with a full head of hair (by full, I mean noticeably receded, but still). By the time they had their rematch a year later, he went to a barber with a picture of Liddell, and politely asked to look just like him.

The older Taker got, the more MMA based submissions he added into his repertoire. On one hand, it was a smart move, as it helped to prolong his career by taking an easier toll on his body. On the other hand, it didn’t exactly fit his gimmick all that well. Taker was a guy who built his mystique by no-selling and using power moves, and somewhere in-between preparing dead bodies for funerals, he learned how to perform a Gogoplata.

The new hair was a slightly better look than his 'opera phantom' phase of his career, but perhaps not by much.

As Rust Cohle from True Detective said "Life's barely long enough to get good at one thing. So be careful what you're good at." Sadly, I can't solve a murder like Rust...or change a tire, or even tie a tie. But I do know all the lyrics to Hulk Hogan's "Real American" theme song and can easily name every Natural Born Thriller from the dying days of WCW. I was once ranked 21st in the United States in Tetris...on the Playstation 3 version...for about a week. Follow along @AndrewSoucek and check out my podcast at wrestlingwithfriends.com
