10 Times Wrestling Companies Had To Apologise To Fans
9. Victory Road Results In TNA Giving Away Its Streaming Service For Free
Anyone with even a fleeting interest in IMPACT Wrestling is likely well, well aware of the shocking events of the 2011 Victory Road PPV.
Back then still under the TNA guise, this March '11 PPV ended in complete and utter calamity, the likes of which the wrestling world has rarely seen. That calamity, of course, was TNA World Heavyweight Champion Sting coming to the ring to be greeted by a totally wasted Jeff Hardy.
Thinking on his feet, Eric Bischoff made his way to the ring to bide some time and covertly inform the Stinger and Hardy of a new finish that would wrap the bout up in a matter of seconds - although one can rightfully question why the match, regardless of how short it was, was allowed to take place at all.
After a minute of gesticulating from the Charismatic Enigma, Sting hit a couple of punches and kicks before landing the Scorpion Death Drop for the 1-2-3 win. The crowd called bullsh*t, and a clearly frustrated Stinger agreed.
To apologise for this debacle, TNA Wrestling quickly put together a statement declaring that anyone who had purchased Victory Road would be entitled to six months of free access to the TNAondemand.com library.
