10 Times Wrestling Fans Booed The Good Guys
1. Die Rocky, Die
Actually, thinking back on it the Rock probably wasn't confused when the crowd were showering him and Roman with boos - he was likely having flashbacks to his time as Rocky Maivia.
Of all the wrestlers on this list, Rocky was the only one who had death wished on him wherever he went. Chants of "Die Rocky, Die" became a staple of every show the unfortunate Mr. Maivia appeared on, and even the legendarily affable Mick Foley thought WWE should cut their losses with the struggling superstar.
Thankfully Mrs. Foley's baby boy's advice went unheeded, and the rest is history. Freed from the fake smile and ridiculous haircut of Rocky Maivia, the Rock was free to unleash his gigawatt charisma, lightning wit and endless supply of catchphrases on the wrestling public. As a result, the same fans who had been chanting for his demise were now giving him standing ovations whenever he cut a promo.
Riding the wave of public adulation all the way to Hollywood, the Rock is undoubtedly the biggest mainstream star to ever rise from professional wrestling and still acts as a beacon of inspiration to his millions... and millions... of fans today.
