10 Times WWE Attitude Era Went Too Far

2. Dean Malenko Stalks Lita

Dean Malenko was an outstanding in-ring performer who helped legitimise the cruiserweight division during his stint with WCW. However, his lack of personality caused him to get lost in the shuffle a bit during his days as a performer in WWE.

In an effort to try and develop his character a bit, and in typical Attitude Era fashion, WWE decided to make 'The Man of a Thousand Holds' a creepy stalker. As such, and as one might expect, Malenko spent a few weeks following former WWE Women's Champion, Lita. To up the creep factor, the character even decided to surprise her in the shower.

This somewhat uncomfortable to watch storyline mercifully ended with The Hardy Boyz Boyz beating Malenko up, just before he was going to do god knows what to Lita in a hotel room.

Poor Malenko. If only WWE knew how to get a cruiserweight title over, this cringeworthy angle probably would have never happened.
