10 Times WWE Didn't Realise Greatness Was Staring Them In The Face
1. Cody
From Legacy lackey and dashing, moustachioed egomaniac to dejected man in the mask and even the goofy Stardust, WWE burned through gimmicks for Cody Rhodes. One thing they never really tried was once-in-a-generation talker and babyface capable of whipping a rapt crowd into a devoted fervour.
More than capable of wrestling in the WWE house style, it’s fair to say that Cody’s skills between the ropes have improved since leaving Titan Towers, in ways they simply couldn’t have had he stayed. Charisma on the other hand is not something you can learn and “The American Nightmare” has always had it in spades. Nor was he afraid to throw himself into whatever role creative gave him.
Nonetheless, the younger Rhodes brother seemed destined to be a career midcarder until he seized his own destiny.
Either Vince couldn’t see what was right in front of him or else he was deliberately looking the other way, unwilling to push Dusty’s boy.
