10 Times WWE Disrespected Stone Cold Steve Austin

3. The John Cena Springboard Stunner

John Cena turned heads when he debuted a springboard stunner at WrestleMania 31. It's a move that nobody would ever expect Cena to bust out, for a variety of reasons. Number one, Cena rarely (if ever) uses springboard moves. Number two, it's a move nobody had ever seen done in that way before. And number three, because the stunner is the sacred finisher of Stone Cold Steve Austin. The stunner has been used by superstars (such as Eugene) since Austin ceased wrestling, but those were isolated cases. The stunner is Austin's finisher. Everyone knows that. Anyone else who does it is just performing a pale imitation. It has been rumoured that WWE specifically asked Cena to use the move in order to p*** Austin off and The Texas Rattlesnake isn't happy about it, calling it 'gimmick infringement' during an episode of his podcast. Austin is not amused that Cena is taking his finisher and making it a transitional move. And why would he be? Austin's finisher has been treated with the utmost respect by WWE over the years. Regularly did anyone kick out of it, save for a few special occasions or big PPV matches. Austin has spent years getting the finisher over, and now WWE is trying to tear that down.
