10 Times WWE Gave Us Something Awesome (...And Immediately RUINED It)

Memories of the p*ss poor invasion angle were still fresh when the WWF started taking advantage of lapsed contracts with AOL/Time Warner to bring ex-WCW megastars to the promotion in 2002. The nWo arrived in February, and they were presented as a weapon Vince McMahon could use in his power struggle with Ric Flair.

Sorry, what?! WCW's rebellious anti-authority renegades were an instrument of destruction for McMahon? That was a shoddy enough idea, but it was made even worse by the fact WWF fans didn't want Hollywood Hogan. No, they wanted the good old red and yellow of 'Hulkamania'.

Hulk's first appearances for the company since 1993 were crushed by his nWo affiliations. Fans voiced their opinions loudly - they wanted nostalgia, and they wanted their Hulk Hogan back. Kevin Nash and Scott Hall were just getting in the way with all this "4 life" stuff.

At least they fixed it, but the nWo invasion between Feb-March was a wobble.
