10 Times WWE Hit Themselves Where It Hurts

8. Blowing So Many Call-ups From NXT

NXT was created to build the next generation of superstars. Despite starting out as a reality show, the concept soon grew into a legitimate and exciting offshoot of WWE, with its own drama, storylines, and hungry young talent willing to give their all to the endeavour they were so passionate about.

Then they get called up to the main roster and it all goes to hell.

While some of the call-ups found their niche (Kevin Owens, the Shield, and Charlotte come to mind), many others found themselves struggling to get footing before finding their groove (Apollo Crews, Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura, Finn Balor, Bayley (finally where she should be!), Sasha.)

Others were just disasters.

Bo Dallas bounced from gimmick to gimmick. EC3, who had everything going for him, was squandered. Tye Dillinger had an amazing debut, coming out at #10 in the 2017 Royal Rumble, but floundered until heading to AEW. Ember Moon, who had a great gimmick that no one knew what to do with. Adam Rose. The Vaudevillians. Tyler Breeze. Emma(lina) Austin Aries. The Ascension.

Name after beloved NXT name got that phone call, and then got lost in the shuffle of Raw or Smackdown. So much wasted potential.
