10 Times WWE Let Everyone Down At SummerSlam

4. The Undertaker Vs. Giant Gonzalez II (1993)

The Undertaker vs. Giant Gonzalez at WrestleMania IX was an absolute stinker, and perhaps the worst offering in 'The Deadman's' legendary Streak. Leave it to WWE to book a rematch nobody wanted for their second biggest show of the year, then.

Feuding with 'Taker was supposed to put Gonzalez over as WWE's next big monster, but it only exposed his deficiencies. Height was the 7'7" brute's only positive quality. He moved around the ring with the grace and poise of a drunk elephant, struggling to execute even the most rudimentary of wrestling moves, and he hadn't improved by SummerSlam.

Contested under 'Rest In Peace' rules (a No DQ match, basically), there was nothing good about the rematch. Gonzalez was still lumbering awkwardness personified, and while 'Taker wasn't a bad wrestler by any means, he was years away from reaching his peak as a performer, and couldn't drag anything watchable out of his opponent.

The finish was particularly bad. Gonzalez's height meant that 'Taker was physically incapable of executing a Tombstone Piledriver on him without breaking his neck, so 'The Phenom' was forced to finish it with a clothesline. A lame conclusion, but Gonzalez fortunately left WWE soon after.
