Imagine paying top whack to see Pink Floyd live in concert, only for them to pull out on the night leaving you suffering through three interminable hours with their somewhat unexpected support act, Los Del Rio. You could leave but... you've already paid. What is a Macarena, anyway?

That was basically Battleground 2014, if we pretend for a moment we live in a world where Dean Ambrose is anywhere near the quality of Pink Floyd. With the culmination of a long-awaited blood feud between the 'Lunatic Fringe' and Shield turncoat Seth Rollins pretty much the only thing to get excited about on the show, WWE pulled the fastest of ones by having Ambrose sent home on the night and awarding the tie to 'The Architect' by default.

Ostensibly, the move was designed to build an even bigger contest between the two at SummerSlam - but doing it on a PPV already advertising the match was basically fraud. Still, like Rollin's golden briefcase, it was all money in the bank.

Benjamin was born in 1987, and is still not dead. He variously enjoys classical music, old-school adventure games (they're not dead), and walks on the beach (albeit short - asthma, you know). He's currently trying to compile a comprehensive history of video game music, yet denies accusations that he purposefully targets niche audiences. He's often wrong about these things.
