Wrestling historians have never quite been able to settle on exactly how many world title reigns The Nature Boy has racked up over the years, but one thing they're pretty sure of is that the figure is higher than 16.
Even if you only count official reigns, he wore the NWA title nine times, the WCW one seven, and WWE's biggest prize twice - which comes to a total of 18.
To make matters more confusing, it is also claimed that there were one or two occasions, during the NWA's touring hey-day, that Flair briefly dropped the title to a local hometown hero before immediately winning it back the next night.
The point is: John Cena still has a ways to go if he wants to legitimately surplant Flair as the record holder - although it's a little late to start inflating the number after all the noise they made about it at the Royal Rumble.
