10 Times WWE Wrestlers DIDN'T Get Their Dream Match

5. CM Punk (In A WrestleMania Main Event)

Among the septillion reasons he quit WWE, CM Punk listed never getting his due in the form of a WrestleMania main event as one of them. As he's been long gone from the company now, the 'Straight Edge Superstar' has gone on to say the main event is no longer a goal in his life, but at one point, it was imperative.

Pointing to bouts with The Undertaker and Brock Lesnar, Punk argued with management that he always put on a great showing with top performers, but in the end, he lost and never went on last at 'The Big One.' In 2013, Punk thought he was poised for WrestleMania's main event, but The Rock returned to set up a rematch with John Cena for the championship. Punk proposed a triple threat match but wasn't heard out.

The following year, CM Punk once again felt slighted by part-time wrestlers, as Batista won the Royal Rumble and headed for the main event at 'The Grandest Stage of Them All.'

Rather than get his dream spot on the card, Punk was told he would face Triple H instead. After receiving the news, 'The Voice of the Voiceless' left WWE altogether. How things might have changed if Punk was ever allowed to cash in his McMahon IOUs for the main event spot just once.
