10 Times You Didn't Realise Wrestlers Were Saying 'Goodbye'

2. The Ultimate Warrior

This is just really sad.

By all accounts, The Ultimate Warrior was hard to work with and somebody who never truly loved the wrestling business the way top stars making millions of dollars are expected to. At his worst, he was an egomaniac and his own worst enemy, but nobody can deny Warrior lived life on his terms.

Any lingering beef with, well...everyone was squashed during one wonderful weekend in 2014. Warrior was inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame, patched things up with Vince McMahon, Hulk Hogan, Jake Roberts and others, and appeared legit happy to be under the McMahon banner for the first time in a long time.

48 hours later on Raw, Ultimate cut an inspired, poignant and typically bonkers promo on TV about death and being immortal. The next day, Warrior collapsed when walking to his car, suffered a heart attack and died. His words on TV hit harder after that, because it almost seemed like the Hall Of Famer's promo foreshadowed his own passing.

He experienced ultimate closure, but it's tragic Warrior wasn't able to enjoy that for longer than a few days.
