10 Times You Were Right To Worry About WWE Feuds

5. Goldberg Vs. "The Fiend" Bray Wyatt

You were right to worry about most of “The Fiend” Bray Wyatt’s feuds, but this one is the worst.

As soon as Goldberg was announced as Bray’s challenger for Elimination Chamber 2020, something didn’t feel right about it.

Big Bad Bill’s character had always been somebody who doesn’t lose; they’d fed Brock Lesnar and Kevin Owens to him already.

When the two came face-to-face, Goldberg just laughed at Bray. This was a man who drove Seth Rollins berserk inside Hell in a Cell, ripped out Daniel Bryan’s hair, and attacked WWE Hall of Famers.

That meant nothing to a chuckling Goldberg.

At this point, every fan was thinking the same thing: surely they won’t let Goldberg beat Bray Wyatt for the Universal Championship. Bill’s match with Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 34 was already booked, it didn’t need the title. Everything was setup for Roman Reigns and The Fiend to faceoff at the Show of Shows…

Three years earlier, Goldberg had taken the strap from Kevin Owens, removing it from his feud with Chris Jericho at the last pay-per-view before WrestleMania 33.

Fans weren’t happy. Surely, they wouldn’t do it again.

Then they did.

A 53-year-old Goldberg defeated The Fiend, a protected character that hadn’t lost, with a Jackhammer so weak that it was really just a Suplex.

Everything WWE had built with Wyatt came crashing down. Even worse than the loss, The Fiend got back in the ring to shake his fist at Goldberg, then disappeared again.

If you don’t laugh you’ll cry.

When I'm not trying my hardest to visit all 50 U.S. states, I'm listening to music from the 80s, watching TV from the 90s, and reminiscing about growing up in the 00s. I'm currently living in Melbourne, Australia so WWE premium live events are on Sunday afternoons for me; the absolute dream.
