Believe it or not, Matt Hardy spent the better part of his 12 year run with WWE as a singles competitor, not in the tag team division with his brother Jeff. And for good reason, too. Always being compared to his younger brother, Matt fared just fine on his own and achieved an ample amount of success in the form of reigns as Cruiserweight, United States and ECW champion. He may have never been genuine main event material, but he was a solid midcarder that could be counted on for quality matches and feuds. Not to mention he was consistently over with the audience and had a huge fanbase, so it was a shame he was underutilized in the final few years he was with WWE. Part of that was due to his deteriorating mindset and other personal issues at the time, but he has since cleaned up his act and has had a great run for himself in TNA. In 2015 alone, he captured the World Tag Team Championship with Jeff before headlining Bound for Glory and capturing the TNA World Heavyweight Championship for the first time in his career. At this stage in his life, Matt is an excellent ambassador for any company he works for. Although a return to the company as an active competitor would be optimal, he would have a lot to offer as an agent for the up-and-coming stars in NXT as well.
