4. Retirement Bites

Jake Roberts referred to Randy Savage's 1986 vicious heel assault on Ricky Steamboat as his "prime" during a successful sh*t-stir that coaxed him to the ring for this heinous premeditated assault, perhaps to see if he had it in him to top the infamous attack.

He did.

The Macho Man was a retired babyface at the time, but had endured a relentless campaign of abuse over the summer of 1991. There didn't seem to be a greater atrocity possible than the one Roberts caused at Savage and Miss Elizabeth's wedding, but 'The Snake' had a trick up his sleeve and an actual King Cobra in his snake sack.

The very real cobra going to work on Randy's very real arm with a very real bite was perhaps the riskiest and most rewarding segment ever produced by WWE, particularly during a period in which the product was geared almost exclusively to children.

Callously slapping Savage as the snake sunk its fangs in deeper, Jake went as far to scream in Elizabeth's face and threaten any potential saviours by wildly swinging the reptile in their direction. Roddy Piper and referees alike could only cower as Savage's arm seeped blood from the legitimate horrifying piercing.
