10 Totally Gross And Gruesome WWE Visuals

2. Celtic Cut

Sheamus hasn't been shy of going in snug on his opponents in his near-decade with WWE, so he probably didn't care too much about the chunk taken out of his head in 2017 even if a passing glance would reduce most spectators to tears.

Alongside partner Cesaro, 'The Celtic Warrior' was en route to WrestleMania for a ladder war that was ultimately stolen by surprise returnees The Hardy Boyz, but was the first notable victim of the company's desperate attempt to shoehorn the gimmick in. Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows' sudden use of the weapon on Sheamus, Cesaro, Enzo and Cass advertised the addition with all the subtly of the shot the delivered to 'The Great White's great white bonce.

After absorbing a brutal ladder shot in an otherwise-typical Monday Night melee, Sheamus rolled to the floor. Cameras tried to mask the full extent of the damage, but a post-match Twitter reveal told the full, horrendous story.

With just six days until the 'Show Of Show', the former WWE Champion couldn't afford to sell the cut as serious despite the miles-wide hole in his forehead. Matt and Jeff's return was so well-received that it's likely few remember him evening being in the match, let alone entering with an almighty wound.
