10 Totally Random Makeshift Tag Teams That Surprisingly Ruled
7. Kane & Rob Van Dam
There are few tag teams as unlikely as Kane and Rob Van Dam. On the one hand (or thumb, if you will) you have have Van Dam: a pot-smoking, front-flipping laid-back dude who lives in California. On the other hand you have, erm, Kane. For a few months in 2003, RVD and Kane were a highlight of Raw. The two had an unusual but effective chemistry in the ring and in backstage segments. Kane showed a lot of personality and was able to display another side of his character with Van Dam. In the ring, the unlikely duo had decent matches with the likes of Lance Storm & William Regal, La Resistance and The Dudley Boys. Still, they must have been disappointed to have been left off of the WrestleMania XIX card: because of time constraints, their match with Sean Morley & Lance Storm was relegated to the pre-show, knocking a couple of zeros off of their pay cheque in the process. RVD and Kane split it in the Summer of 2003 when Kane turned heel after his unmasking at the hands of Triple H. The two clashed in a disjointed No Holds Barred match at SummerSlam and in a much better cage match on Raw before moving on to other endeavours. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_C9PeUT90_8
