Let's get the important stuff out of the way first; just how awesome was Perry Saturn's outfit the night the group made their debut on WWF TV? Sure, Guerrero, Benoit and Malenko weren't exactly dressed in classy garb, but Perry Saturn's get up should have guaranteed him a fanbase there and then.

The Radicalz consisted of four of WCW's finest wrestlers, all of whom had made the jump to WWF when they realised that the water that was collecting in WCW's boat wasn't being for future use. Four more talented workers you would struggle to find at the time, and they represented a major talent acquisition for WWF.

As it was, they were booked as losers from the start. All had matches in order to gain WWF contracts, and all lost. They were then handed contracts in exchange for turning on Mankind, subtly reinforcing the idea that WCW workers weren't good enough to work in WWF on merit.

The group quietly drifted apart, and went on to experience varying levels of success in the company. Looking at the talent in the group it is clear that something more should have come of their union. As it was, Dean Malenko went on to become a ladies man, Eddie Guerrero went on to become a ladies man, Perry Saturn went on to become a mop's man and Benoit did what he did.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
