10 UFC Fighter Comebacks Which Could Potentially Happen In 2020

3. Nate Diaz

Those Diaz brothers don't half enjoy taking time off...

Spending the early part of his career trading wins and losses with the best that the Welterweight division had to offer, Nate Diaz' defeats to Rory MacDonald and Rafael dos Anjos were balanced out by victories over Donald 'Cowboy' Cerrone and Jim Miller.

Yet, the Stockton native was about to step up to a different level and this all started when he was thrown into a clash with Conor McGregor at UFC 196 as a last minute replacement.

A win there set up a legendary rematch and - despite losing - Diaz' stock had now risen to new heights.

However, a three year absence would follow this feud.

He finally returned to the cage in August 2019 at UFC 241 and put away Anthony Pettis via unanimous decision. A 'Baddest Motherf*cker' clash was quickly then set into motion between himself and hot property Jorge Masvidal for UFC 244, but a controversial doctor stoppage in that fight left a sour taste in both the fans' and Diaz' mouth.

Diaz has been his usual provocative self on Twitter ever since this defeat, but there's still no word as to when he will return to the Octagon.

Many have speculated that a third McGregor fight could be on the cards for July. If Diaz' eye is healed up and McGregor is serious about competing three times this year, buckle up because Diaz/McGregor III may be about to become a reality.
