10 UFC Fights That Could Soon Break Records
1. Floyd Mayweather Vs. Conor McGregor II
... it may not be a traditional MMA contest, but if the rumours surrounding a Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather rematch are to be believed, the UFC could be set for a rather large influx of dollar bills. 'Mystic Mac' and 'Money Mayweather' shouldn't do too badly coming out of it either.
Boxing match or MMA bout, though?
That's the important question.
McGregor has gone on record to state how Mayweather originally agreed to fight a return bout in the Octagon. However, judging from the noises coming out of the legendary boxer's camp, it doesn't seem likely that he'll be game for an excursion into McGregor's world.
If the pair could agree on a specific set of rules - similar to what Tyson Fury has suggested for his rumoured clash with Stipe Miocic - involving a strictly no grappling/kicking stipulation, perhaps Mayweather's head could be turned.
In reality, it looks as though the most obvious endgame here involves McGregor stepping back inside of a boxing ring. Yet, Dana White has surprised us all in the past and he has stated frequently that he and Mayweather would be doing business together in the near future.
So, if the stars align and Mayweather can be convinced to make his MMA (or whatever the hell a no grappling or kicking bout can be defined as in the Octagon) debut, that PPV record may be about to double and then some.
