10 UFC Fights That Need To Happen In 2020

2. Adesanya Vs. Jones

Is there anyone more explosive in the UFC right now than Israel Adesanya? Having only debuted in the UFC in February 2018, The Stylebender has won all seven of his UFC fights - the last of which saw him become the unified UFC Middleweight Champion just last month.

Not only have Adesanya's last two fights seen him beat current middleweight royalty in Robert Whittaker and Kelvin Gastelum, but the fight before those two had the Nigerian-New Zealander beat the iconic Anderson Silva. The point being, Israel Adesanya is as hot a star as the UFC has on its hands right now. And interestingly, there may be the opportunity to put him up against Jon Jones at some point in 2020.

Jones is the current UFC Light Heavyweight Champion and had previously been eyeing the jump up to the heavyweight ranks, and Adesanya is the current UFC Middleweight Champion. But both fighters seem eager to have a super fight of sorts, with the pair having spent months bitching about each other on social media or during press work.

Jonny Bones has only one controversial DQ loss on his record, and Adesanya has a stunning professional MMA record of 18-0. Fans are crying out to see what would give should this bitter rivalry culminate in a fight, and hopefully that fight happens next year- even if Adesanya's plan is to decimate the middleweight division in 2020, before then looking for that Jones fight.
