10 UFC Rivals Who Seriously Can’t Stand Each Other
1. Conor McGregor And <span Style="font-size: 17.55px;">Khabib Nurmagomedov</span>
There's a simple reason UFC 229 still holds the record for the most PPV buys in UFC history. It's because Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov quite literally wanted to rip each other's faces off...and they still do.
Forget about the pair stepping inside of the Octagon, the press conferences alone were some of the most compelling exchanges we'd ever seen.
The feud got heated after McGregor's teammate Artem Lobov was cornered and subsequently slapped by Khabib over comments he'd made about his compatriot, which then led to 'Notorious' boarding a plane and travelling to New York to seek revenge against 'The Eagle'. One dolly smashing through a coach window later, McGregor Vs Khabib was scheduled for UFC 229.
Taking aim at Khabib's team in the build up to their clash, McGregor labelled Khabib's father as a 'quivering coward' and branded the star's manager Ali Abdelaziz a 'terrorist snitch'.
However, Khabib did the business in the Octagon on fight night and tapped out McGregor in the fourth round. Khabib was far from done, though, as he then infamously jumped the cage and launched himself at McGregor's Jiu-Jitsu partner Dillion Danis.
A mass brawl brought the chaotic night to a close and McGregor has been seeking a rematch with his arch-nemesis ever since.
