10 UFC Stars Who Deserve Your Attention In 2020
5. Jared Cannonier
Jared Cannonier has been plying his trade inside of the Octagon for just over five years and in that time he hasn't exactly grabbed the headlines, but not for want of trying.
Arriving in the UFC as a Heavyweight, Cannonier was knocked out upon entry by Shawn Jordan at UFC 182. He'd eventually drop down to Light Heavyweight in 2016 and enjoyed a bit more success, but still only amassed a 2-3 record at that weight.
However, things would begin to look up after he made the decision to drop down (again!) to Middleweight in 2018. As things stand, 'The Killa Gorilla' is 3-0 in the division and even boasts a win over UFC (and Middleweight) legend Anderson Silva.
Transitioning his impressive Heavyweight/Light Heavyweight power seamlessly into his new division has led to three TKO finishes in a row for the robust and dominant striker.
Want some proof of this seismic power?
Just a quick scan through some of his highlights in the division will make you realise exactly why Cannonier doesn't sit atop many of his fellow Middleweight's lists of desired opponents.
If Cannonier can claim a victory over a top ranked star in the division in 2020, he could be well on his way to earning his first ever UFC Championship match and all of the attention his Middleweight performances definitely merit.
