10 UFC Stars Who Deserve Your Attention In 2020
4. Carlos Diego Ferreira
Before he was announced as Anthony Pettis' opponent on the Conor McGregor spearheaded UFC 246 card, you would have been forgiven for not knowing much about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu sensation, Carlos Diego Ferreira.
The third degree black belt in the art arrived onto the UFC scene with a perfect 9-0 MMA record and had made a career out of tapping out his unfortunate adversaries. That was until he hit a bit of a roadblock in 2014 and lost two back-to-back fights against Beneil Dariush and Dustin Poirier, respectively.
That latter bout really looked like a watershed moment for Ferreira and after he was knocked out by Poirier at UFC Fight Night 63, he found a second wind in the Lightweight division and has since gone on a five match winning streak.
Specialising in high volumes of thunderous bombs, spectacular capoeira style kicks and a gripping (literally) ground game, Ferreira hasn't got many - if any - weaknesses in his make-up to exploit.
That being said, he hasn't really overcome anybody of any real worth during his current UFC tenure... yet.
Regardless of the outcome at UFC 246, the event will finally place Ferreira on a highly anticipated card and hopefully that will lead to more fans focusing their attention onto a Lightweight which not enough people are talking about.
