10 Ultimate Heel Victories At WrestleMania

9. Yokozuna Defeats Bret Hart (WrestleMania IX)

Before Hulk Hogan would appear and steal the show out from underneath them, Bret Hart and Yokozuna worked tirelessly to piece together a solid David vs. Goliath story for the fans inside Caesar's Palace at 'Mania IX. Writing in his autobiography, Hart himself states that Yoko may have been hard to move, but he was deceptively agile, making him easier to work against. Winning the Royal Rumble in January, Yokozuna would grab hold of the WWF Title here, looking for all the world as a dominating heel champion should. From out of nowhere, Hogan stormed the ring, seemingly to help his buddy Bret. The real reason was revealed shortly afterwards, as Mr. Fuji challenged Hulk to face Yokozuna for the latter's newly-won strap. It was pretty nonsensical, and even though fans ate it up at the time, many agree that WrestleMania IX would have been a better event had Yokozuna ended the show on top. There was a story there to build on, just who could dethrone the gargantuan new champion, but it wasn't to be. At least Yoko got to beat Bret Hart, not many top heels can say that they've won their featured match in the main event of 'Mania.
