On paper, it looked like NXT TakeOver: Respect would simply serve as the placeholder between Brooklyn and London, but it was actually anything but. The event was built around the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic as well as the first ever Iron Woman match in the main event between NXT Women's champion Bayley and Sasha Banks.

The dream team of Finn Bálor and Samoa Joe won the trophies together in the night's penultimate match, but the semifinals ended up being the best matches of the entire tournament. While Joe and Bálor took on The Revival in the opener, it was the subsequent semifinal match that stole the show.

Jason Jordan and Chad Gable were just finding their stride as a tag team and seemed to be the obvious picks to go over the makeshift duo of Rhyno and Baron Corbin. However, Rhyno and Corbin also found fantastic chemistry as a tandem and worked extremely well against the up-and-coming athletes.

American Alpha brought their absolute A-game in their match against the behemoths and wowed fans with their exhilarating offense. Not to mention that the finish was just fantastic with Corbin countering a DDT attempt from Gable into an End of Days of nowhere. Tag team wrestling at its finest.
