10 Unlikeliest WWE WrestleMania Main-Eventers
4. Seth Rollins
Here was one literally no one saw coming, because it came completely without warning. In one of the most iconic WrestleMania moments, at the 31st edition, Seth Rollins interrupted the main event between Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar, and cashed in his money in the bank briefcase. He won the impromptu three-way match, and ended the show holding aloft the WWE Championship with Michael Cole proclaiming Seth had pulled off "the heist of the century."
It was quite the moment for someone who, years earlier, was pelted with "future jobber" chants.
The man once known as Tyler Black was a skinny, indie-riffic wrestler who didn't really have much of a personality. Fans of ROH thought he would be eaten alive in the world of giants. It seemed like that, even when he was made part of The Shield. The company saw more star potential in Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns. Thus, Seth at first was the group's fall guy, eating pins to protect Roman and Dean.
However, those in the company saw how hard Seth worked, how good he made others look, and how amazing his moveset was. Once the time came to split the Shield, Rollins got the rub of the heel turn and alliance with Triple H, and from there, he was set for stardom. And when he was in the right place and the right time, he was called on to give WrestleMania 31 a happy ending.
