10 Unsolved WWE Mysteries
9. The Great Khali's 2017 Return
Someday, Jinder Mahal's entire WWE Title reign will become the answer to a trivia question. Though WWE deserve some praise for trying something different in 2017, they could have done a lot better than rocketing someone fans viewed as enhancement talent to the top title picture without any real build.
They could also have explained why The Great Khali, a former enemy of Mahal's, returned at Battleground to help him beat Randy Orton.
Khali's comeback was brief, so much so that it was forgotten about within a week of happening and never mentioned again. Shouldn't such a major moment in the main event of a pay-per-view have purpose? At the very least, WWE should have given context behind Khali's decision to stroll out, distract Orton and raise Jinder's hand.
The big Indian even raised the WWE Title above his head (like it was his own) as Battleground went off the air. Meanwhile, Jinder stood around looking awkward, like he'd just been told Khali would be replacing him as champ.
